The best thing to wear at your session is neutral colours with simple designs. Stay away from bright colours and loud patterns.

it’s best to avoid clothing with stripes as it can create an effect called moiré, which can’t be photoshopped out most of the time.

Now - This is completely up to you! But if you want your pictures to look glam dressing up makes a huge difference! Skip the jeans and go dressy.

If you get your hair and makeup done, its a great way to feel great about yourself & confident in your photos. But do be careful if you opt for a contour. Ensure your makeup artist blends it well, as If they don’t it can create a very weird shadow on your face.

Don’t stress about the session! We’ll go with the flow and see where it takes us. I am a professional, so even if you feel uncomfortable about getting your photos done, I can promise by the end you’ll be very happy with them & you might even say you had fun!

if there are going to be kids at your session, don’t feel like you cant bribe them with treats throughout, or an ice cream date, or trip to the arcade after!

Do your best to keep the rooms you want to use as tidy as possible. The rooms I recommend decluttering are the babies room, Mom & Dads room & the living room.

For example, ensure side tables are free of everything except lamps. Hide out of view any Laundry baskets, diapers, garbage cans.. etc.

I recommend planning at least 2 outfits for the baby and one light coloured swaddle blanket.

Try to stay away from any bright colours or bold patterns. Aim to keep things as neutral as possible.

Neutral bedding is ideal, but please don’t feel like you need to go out and buy new bedding. If you have very dark or patterned bedding, just make sure there is a neutral blanket option near by that we can use for some photos!

In home shoots can be a stressful idea. But you’d be amazed what magic can be done with angles and cropping in. So do the best you can to be prepared and I’ll figure out the rest!

Newborn sessions take a bit of time, and that’s OK! We are working with your baby, not making your baby work with us. So we’ll take our time and listen to the little ones needs and take breaks as needed!

When picking out a time for the session, it’s best for us to do the session after baby gets up for a nap and after baby has eaten. This way your little one should be in a content state and we should be able to start the session on a good note!
