wedding day tips

Here are some tips to help your day run smoothly!

  • In order for us to get the best detail shots possible it helps tremendously if you have everything together for when we get there.

Bride - Invitation suite, Florals, Perfume, jewelry & shoes, veil, rings…etc

Ask your florist for any loose blooms, these really help elevate your photos.

To ensure we have enough time for a full flat lay we request you schedule us at least 1.5 hours for the girls getting ready photos

Groom- Watch, cologne, Rings, shoes, tie, pocket square, boutonniere & Cufflinks

For the guys please schedule an hour for us to get the flat lays and guys getting ready.

  • Make sure when you’re building your time line to build in buffer time. The odds are at some point during the day things will end up behind schedule. If you want to ensure enough time to get epic portraits, please add extra time (e.g. if we are travelling add an extra 15 m to each travel section for traffic, people running late etc.)

Please also send your timeline for review a minimum of 2 weeks before your wedding so we can discuss if there is eough coverage.

  • The most stressful part of the day for my couples is often family photos.

To have this time run smoothly, I recommend keeping family photos as intimate as possible, and letting anyone who is part of family photos know exactly where and when to meet so we don’t have to hunt them down

  • I recommend you schedule 2-2.5 hours of portrait time for your wedding. If you are planning to have extensive family photos a little extra time never hurts. Just remember the more time the more photos. so if Photos are important to you, the more time the better!

If you’re struggling on where to do your photos, any location that is pretty and provides consistent shade is best! Good lighting is essential, normally any park or a lot of venues have good spots for taking photos. We can always discuss this further if you’re feeling like you need help finding the right spot!

  • The most important thing when choosing a location for photos is to ensure we have a space where we have access to open shade (this is shade where you can see the sky above you without obstruction. e.g. when a tree casts shade on the ground around it but you wouldn’t have to stand directly under the tree to be in the shade)
